Someone's Drowning

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” 

This is what God’s Word, His promise, says to us in the book of John 3:16-18 NKJV.

 Imagine yourself in the middle of the ocean, the ocean of sin and condemnation. And you're out there by yourself wailing your arms and doing everything you possibly can, trying to save yourself, but realizing you can't. The waves of sin and condemnation are too strong. Then here comes a lifeboat and on this lifeboat that I happen to be on, I see YOU!   Because I was rescued, I’m able to throw this life preserve to you to save your life from drowning in this ocean of sin and condemnation. The sweet life preserve, His name is Jesus.

You hear me calling out to you and saying, “ the life preserved is right in front of you reach out and grab it!”  But because the waves are strong and unrelenting you aren’t able to see the life preserver.

You then realize you have a choice to make: 1.either believe that the life preserver is there and grab on to it; believe that It is right within your reach to be pulled into the lifeboat or 2. you can be fearful and not believe it’s there and continue to believe in yourself, your own strength and struggle to survive in this ocean of sin and condemnation.

Can you see the simple picture? The loving heavenly Father is our lifeboat and His son Jesus is our preserve.

I'm standing on this lifeboat now, still with my life preserver on, because storms do come and the waves of sin and condemnation try to knock me off the boat sometimes through its waves of hardships, death of love ones and much, much more.

I once was drowning myself in the sea of sin and condemnation.  I was drowning from my own sin. I got tired and overwhelmed and realized I couldn't save myself, no matter how hard I tried.  Then someone loved me enough to offer me a Life Preserver,  so I believed and I took the life preserve named Jesus, grabbed onto Him and was saved and pulled into the Life Boat.

Will you admit you’re drowning from your sin and the waves of condemnation are trying to keep you under?

Will you believe and accept Jesus to be your life preserver?  Your Savior?

Will you receive God’s precious and priceless Love for YOU?  He not only wants to save you but show you a better way of Life!
